Love, Fate and Afghanistan is a memoir of love, travel and adventure in driving from London to India and back in 1971. On my return I married Alyson, my passenger. It is lighthearted but gives a brief, painless history of modern Iran, Afghanistan and India as viewed from the Hippie Trail. In 2009 I returned to Afghanistan as a geriatric tourist.
