Some beginnings are more definite than others. For Nicolle Maroulis, they know their Hit Like a Girl project began near Montclair, New Jersey in September 2017. That’s when these songs started to take shape, anyway—love songs that end up larger than the sum of their parts, personal confessions transformed into welcome catharsis, transmissions from bitter ends and hopeful futures.
