Many Moors argue that mis‑nomers such as “Negro,” “Black,” “African‑American,” and similar labels cause harm because, when applied in legal or political contexts, they function as titles without national standing. A mis‑nom, by definition, does not identify a living nation or a recognized body politic; therefore, it carries no legal effect or protection. From this perspective, generations of people labeled under these terms have lived under colonial pressure, social conditioning, and systemic miseducation long enough to forget or become separated from their original nationality. Throughout colonial history, many leaders, institutions, and public systems encouraged or enforced these labels—whether “Black,” “Negro,” “Colored,” “African‑American,” “Pan‑African,” “Black‑Indian,” or “Moorish‑American.” These titles were promoted despite having no treaty-based standing, no international recognition, and no lawful remedy for the people who adopted them. As a result, Moors or Blackamoors, were left without the protections that come with a recognized nationality, while colonial governments continued to dominate territories once connected to the historical Moroccan Empire. Moors are encouraged to reject all mis‑nomers and reclaim their Moroccan nationality as a living, lawful identity. Restoring their own governments, institutions, and national consciousness—is seen as the path to ending generational suffering and reestablishing rightful political standing. Moors are called to return to their ancestral mother nation, the Empire of Morocco, and to act as patriots of that enduring national lineage rather than accepting labels considered “dead in law” or disconnected from their true heritage.
